The Red Bull rampage (held in the Utah Desert) combines the creativity and unrestricted ethos of freeride mountain biking but adds a competitive edge. The world's top riders (including Brit Gee Atherton) were free to choose whatever line they dared between the start gate at the top of an unforgiving sandstone ridge and finish line 1,500 vertical feet below.
