On 3 June 2010, Stephen Pyke, reached the summit of Ben Hope in the far north of Scotland to complete one of the most incredible ultra-distance feats in the Scottish Mountains. In just 40 days he had climbed all 283 of Scotland’s 3,000ft peaks, better known as the Munros, to take more than 9 days of the previous record. All this against the backdrop of one of our longest winters for decades and with all the sophisticated support of a retired neighbour and a converted van! An amazing, self-propelled, marathon-a-day journey across the wildest and most beautiful area of the British Isles. A colourful account from the three-time Fell Runners Association Long Distance Trophy winner that will appeal to anyone who enjoys getting out in the hills.

An amazing story of 'Munro Bagging'. We heard 'Spyke's' tale unfold last thursday in Hathersage Hall - climbing, kayaking, running and cycling. Incredible.
