4th December 2009
The judging panel for ShAFF 2010 will be as follows:
Ian Parnell
Ian has judged for ShAFF in 2008 and 2009 so has plenty of experience. A professional photographer as well as a highly accomplished mountaineer, Ian has a wealth of experience filming in the mountains. In 2005 Ian filmed his and Andy Kirkpatrick's attempt on the Lafaille Route on the Dru in France (the hardest route in the Alps at the time). The resulting film: Cold Haul won widespread acclaim. More recently he filmed Sir Ranulph Fiennes on both the Eiger and Everest. More info about Ian: http://www.ianparnell.com/
Lucy Creamer
Lucy is the most successful female British climber of all time. As a result she is well used to being on film and brings to the judging panel a perspective of somebody who spends a great deal of time in front of cameras rather than behind. She knows just how difficult it is for the cameraman to capture the right sequence or the best moment. Lucy has also judged at the Kendal Mountain Festival. Si Homfray
Si is a photographer, designer and entrepreneur. He runs Hammer Design and Living Art, and has been involved in the outdoor world since the year dot. He'll bring a fresh outlook to the panel, assessing the films for their artistry as well as their general interest and production.
Ian and Lucy will also present the films at ShAFF throughout the weekend.
